Daichi Ishikawa chats with two of his former police colleagues, who have come visiting their old chief. Karim Al Habib and Tenzin Gyatso tell stories about the rookie officers and reassure Daichi that the latest crime figures are at an all-time low.
Cat Espinosa invites Karim Al Habib over to her apartment, where they hang out and enjoy each other’s company. Whispering in Cat’s ear, Karim admits that no one else makes him feel things like she does, and that he knows it’s love. Cat feels the same way about him.
Karim conducts the interrogation of one of the suspects in a vandalism case while the rookies watch through the one way mirror. Karim’s questioning techniques wear down Omar Jaouad’s resolve and Omar admits to the crime. It’s a fine and community service for this law breaker!
Police Chief Karim Al Habib checks in with two of the new rookie cops at the station. Jack Carson is a promising junior officer and Akito Ishikawa has big shoes to fill – Akito’s Uncle Daichi taught Karim everything he knows about being Chief. Karim has high expectations of them both.
The Romance Festival happens right outside Cat Espinosa’s apartment, so she invites her love interest Karim Al Habib to try some sakura tea. Karim doesn’t need the tea to get into the mood for romance, though – Cat’s beauty is intoxicating enough for him.
Karim Al Habib is promoted to be the new Chief of Police. His good friend Detective Tenzin Gyatso thinks this is awesome, and is sure that Karim will be a great chief. The criminals still out in the world don’t stand a chance!
Longing to see Cat Espinosa, Karim pays her a surprise visit during her work shift at Quad Manor library. They can’t keep their hands off each other as they tumble into a closet for some workplace WooHoo. They try not to make too much noise, mindful that they are in a library.
Karim grabs a burger for breakfast with Tenzin Gyatso and Orion Sheng. He feels refreshed after sleeping soundly in his tent. But Tenzin and Orion aren’t so sure about roughing it after being creeped out by bugs in the camp shower block.
Roasting up the fish he caught for dinner, Karim chats with Kishan Anand at the campfire. Kishan is enjoying the trip, but he misses his daughter Kyra, who’s staying with friends while he’s away. Karim hands him a plate of fish to cheer him up.
The off-duty police officers spend the first day of their vacation in Granite Falls fishing together. Karim is loving how relaxing it feels being surrounded by nature and bonding with his friends Orion, Tenzin and Kishan.
